Despite efforts to save the mall, the current owners of the 29-acre property will present their plans to Portland's Design Review Committee to tear it all down. This will make way for a 10-year project. There will be retail buildings, new streets, more sidewalks, and thousands of new housing units.

The story of Lloyd Center is more than just about a shopping mall. It's about how a city adapts to change and how public spaces can evolve to meet new demands.
